We want victory but no battle. We want blessings with no sacrifice. We are selfish, yet we demand love. God isn't a slot machine. Put a coin in the offering & lets see if you can hit the jackpot, the mother load. He isn't the lottery system, take a chance, take a chance. This isn't Wheel of Fortune either. He is GOD & He demands respect
SEEK Ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things that you gentiles seek will be added to you. See we have no problem seeking God nor the Kingdom for things but struggle long and hard with righteousness. You know the moral standard part. How we are suppose to be and live: holy, pure and upright. Not fornicating, lying, cheating, stealing, adulterers with no compassion for others but only those we like, and long suffering too! But overall, I think you get the picture.
Yet many are righteous right, yeah self righteous to be exact. Just in case you don't know what it means to be self-righteous. It means to have a smug moral superiority. You know when you think of yourself more highly than you ought. Condemning others who appear average to you. You know simply think you are better than others. Big house, nice luxury car, jazzy clothes, cushy job, degrees, children in college or gifted programs, fancy titles, cute shape, you know those things that make us feel we got it going on. No matter what they are.
Walking with a false humility which simple means "deprecating one's own sanctity, gifts, talents, and accomplishments for the sake of receiving praise or adulation from others." So, in other words, acting humble to get praise from God or people. Luke 14:10 tells us to take the humble place the lowest seat in the house. we should wait for the guest/host to exalt us but many feel that they are privileged.
You must do both parts of Matthew 6:33 seek not His hand but His plan.Become more like Him in what we think ,do or say. Aiming to be like CHRIST not mike. Then we can live moral pleasing lives as unto the Lord. Do that and watch the flood gates of heaven open
